Even at church

Now at church I try really hard to be low key. I don't do anything out of the ordinary, at least I don't think so. But the other day I was at church and we had visitors. I said hello but didn't stop to chat. Well don't you know this man followed me outside and yelled "Hey! Ain't you the one that makes the good sweet potato pies?!" Now I'm mostly known for my cakes but since I learned to make sweet potato custard I've been getting compliments on that too. But really fella? Is all that necessary? You're the same dude who saw all the women struggling to carry stuff and didn't so much as lift a finger to help. Didn't even hold the door! So uncool. So my reply was "yes, but I won't be bringing any tomorrow" and in my head that was followed by "and if I did I wouldn't want them shared with you for not being a gentleman". Chivalry is not dead, but I would expect brotherly love at church if nothing else. You want something from us but all you do is stand and stare at the women like they are steaks and pork chops?! How gross!
