Swagalicious Prayer

I realize that swag and prayer don't really go together, at least not for other people. But for the Deaconess, that's the only way it can work.

Read on...this is a good one.

So a coworker of mine was leaving. She's not someone I was particularly close to, but I was very fond of her quiet nature and I respected her knowledge. The hour of her farewell event grew near, and I was asked to get the party started. Well the nervous person that I am, yes even swagger comes with nerves, I said a few words and introduced the young lady who was leaving because the crowd had expressed that they were mostly interested in hearing from her. So after she spoke I blessed the food so everyone could eat. Well I prayed from my heart for her, for those remaining at our current place of employment, and for the food that we were about to receive. When I finished praying, the 'church' truly said Amen. It may be one of those things you had to experience to understand, but as a friend shared with me later, the prayer was definitely received by those present. Some 'screamed', some said they felt like they were in church, some commented that they felt like it was Sunday morning and some passed the collection plate. But those who knew me, just said Amen and got in line for food because these are ladies who regularly refer to me as 'the Deaconess'. These are ladies I have prayed with and prayed for in times past. So for my friends, it was just what they are used to and what they expected, but that's the beauty of God, He is no respecter of person. He allowed that prayer to touch those HE wanted to touch. The anointing of Jesus Christ, now that's swag!
